Accelerated Nursing Graduate | Future Registered Nurse
My journey to nursing has been shaped by perseverance, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping others. As a nontraditional nursing student, mother of three, and business owner, I have learned the importance of adaptability, hard work, and maintaining composure through life's challenges. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with others, remain calm under pressure, and approach every situation with empathy and determination.
Throughout my education at Cecil College, I have had the opportunity to care for patients across diverse healthcare settings, strengthening my clinical judgment, communication, and confidence while preparing me to begin my career as a registered nurse.
Nursing offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference during some of the most vulnerable moments in a person's life. I was drawn to the profession because it combines compassion with critical thinking, allowing nurses to advocate for patients while providing skilled, evidence-based care. Throughout nursing school, caring for patients across a variety of healthcare settings reinforced my passion for serving others and confirmed that nursing is the career where I can make the greatest impact.
As I begin my nursing career, my goal is to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care while continually expanding my knowledge and clinical expertise. I hope to begin my career in emergency nursing, where I can apply critical thinking, clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment while caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
I am committed to lifelong learning and view every patient encounter as an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. As healthcare continues to evolve, I strive to remain current with evidence-based practice, strengthen my clinical skills, and embrace opportunities for continued education and professional development. My long-term goal is to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, pursue specialty certifications, and become a confident, knowledgeable nurse who serves as a trusted advocate for patients and a dependable member of the healthcare team.
Above all, I aspire to build a career founded on integrity, compassion, and excellence; one in which every patient is treated with dignity and respect, every family feels supported, and every interaction reflects my commitment to providing the highest quality nursing care.

Optimizing BCMA Compliance to Reduce Medication Errors
As part of a collaborative evidence-based practice project, our team examined strategies to improve medication safety by optimizing Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA) compliance. We explored current research regarding the causes of medication administration errors and identified evidence-based interventions to reduce unsafe workarounds, improve barcode scanning compliance, and enhance patient safety. Our proposed practice change emphasized staff education, workflow support, reliable equipment, and ongoing compliance monitoring to strengthen safe medication administration practices.
Working on this project reinforced the importance of integrating current research into clinical decision-making and demonstrated how evidence-based practice can drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes. It also strengthened my ability to collaborate within a team, critically evaluate research, and apply evidence to real-world nursing challenges.
Drugs in the Community & Safe Needle Exchange
This community health project examines the health risks associated with injection drug use, including infection, overdose, and bloodborne illnesses. It promotes a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to harm reduction through clean needle use, safe disposal, needle exchange programs, and access to healthcare resources.
Preventing Pregnancy
This educational project explains how the Depo-Provera birth control injection works, its effectiveness, possible side effects, and the importance of receiving each dose on schedule. It also emphasizes that the injection does not protect against sexually transmitted infections and discusses the importance of additional protection.
Professional nursing requires a combination of technical competence, clinical judgment, and compassionate patient care. This section highlights the certifications, clinical skills, and professional qualities I have developed throughout my education. These experiences have prepared me to provide safe, evidence-based care while adapting to the ever-changing healthcare environment.
Nursing extends beyond treating a disease process; it is about caring for the whole person. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect while receiving individualized, evidence-based care that recognizes their unique physical, emotional, cultural, developmental, and spiritual needs.

Through strong communication and teamwork, nurses can advocate for their patients while making informed clinical decisions that promote positive outcomes.
I am committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional growth as I strive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care with integrity and excellence. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients and their families by fostering trust, advocating for their needs, and treating every individual with empathy and respect.
